Tourist places to visit in Sikkim

Gangtok is famous for historical monasteries and natural beauty. The height of Gangtok is 1547 meters above sea level. The snow-covered Kanchenjunga range peaks from this city settled on the banks of the Ranipul River can be fascinated. It seems like the mountain is bogged down to the sky and the moment is changing its color.


Due to rainfall throughout the year, the weather here is quite pleasant. Especially honeymoon couples may like the weather here. It is 40 kilometers from Lake Somogo. The lake is among the snowy hills. Rumtek can also be seen, which quite old monastery is. The nearest airport and railway station is in Siliguri. The busiest route here is Gangtok road connecting Sikkim. Government and private buses run for Gangtok from Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalingpong, Bagdogra etc.



It is a small and super quiet village that consists of a single street with two or three restaurants and several trekking agencies. Yuksom is mainly departure point and hiring for trekking through the North Sikkim, as is the Singalila or Dzongri trekking.

It also has some attractions such as the climb to the Dubdi Monastery. This was the first monastery founded after the coronation of the first king of the Sikkim. The monastery is very small, but the walk is pleasant. Be careful if you go in monsoon season, the road is full of leeches.

You can also go to see the small lake Kathok (10 rupees) and the Norbugang Forest, where there is a small temple, and where is the “crown stone” of the first king of the Sikkim.

Another interesting option is to make a short trek walking Yuksom – Khecheopalri Lake.

It is a sacred lake for both Hindu and Buddhist, the entrance is 10 rupees. It is located halfway between Yuksom and Pelling (about 25 km). The visit to the lake will not take you more than 10 minutes, in reality, it is not a spectacular lake either, but the walk is worth it.

In spite of these there are many other honeymoon places in Sikkim where one can enjoy their holiday.
